Introducing yogini Tia Virtanen

I have been practicing yoga regularly for about four years. I have tried different types of yoga, but mostly I have been doing Hatha.

For the past three years I have been practicing Anusara yoga under the instruction of Pili Cortesé.
 

What are the benefits of yoga?

By practicing yoga I can take a moment and focus on being in my body and feeling the sensations that the movement and the stillness bring. 

What are the benefits of yoga?

Yoga is an opportunity to turn my attention to myself and to connect with all parts of myself. Through yoga I have been able to develop acceptance of and appreciation for my body. 

I feel like life is an adventure and a journey, and the excitement that comes with that makes me get up in the morning. But sometimes I lose this mindset when I'm too caught up with the struggles of everyday life, and I have to remind myself. 

My unselfish dream in life is to, one way or another, encourage and empower people who are insecure or vulnerable. My selfish dream is to travel to the most beautiful places and see and experience as much of this world as I can. 

Yoga journey with Pili
